Anne Arundel’s Horses, a Rich Heritage

Anne Arundel County (and Maryland overall!) has a truly rich heritage in its horse farms past and present, the longstanding and still vibrant horse industry in our county, and our extensive horse-related historical record. We’ve been researching the topic throughout the 4 1/2 years I’ve been with our heritage area, and we are finally ready to begin to share the fruits of that research in a newly-created blog on the subject, at www.annearundelhorses.blogspot.com . We would love to hear from readers who would like to share their stories and knowledge of our horse heritage, and we think the blog format is ideally suited to these purposes! Do you have remnants of your grandfather’s carriage (send pictures!) or records from your family’s barn or attic that help to tell the story? Let us know, please! Our e-mail is heritage_area@aacounty.org . Thanks from Four Rivers — Carol Benson
