I’m on vacation this week, but I thought it’d be fun to guess where I am. Maybe some of these birds can be found in the Four Rivers Heritage Area, but maybe not. And all of these photos were taken by me on a previous trip to where I’ve gone this time.
In the comments below, don’t just tell me where I am, tell me what the bird is too. At least two of these photos offer hints.
Happy Easter and/or spring break to all.

You are in Florida (probably Southern Florida)
A- Great Egret
B- Great Blue Heron
C- Cormorant (looks a bit like an Anhinga, but not)
D- Osprey
E- Burrowing Owl (this is what makes me think you are in Southern Florida)
Hope you are having a great trip.
Thanks, Stacie – you were indeed correct. All right except one. See Regina’s answer in comments for D.
Oh, and I was in Florida where all of these birds were photographed.
Nice job to all. Carol – a burrowing owl was seen last year in Delaware (Bombay Hook). Further back, there was one recorded in Western Maryland.
Good to know! You were lucky to see it in Florida!
C: Cormorant
D: Osprey
Right on C, wrong on D. And I knew D would be the toughest. We are so close now.
Snail Kite?
Boom. All done! Nice job to all.
A- Egret
B- Heron
C- Penguin
D- Flamingo
E- Burrowing owl
I may be wrong on a couple of them.
Outstanding job on all, but C and D!
I think they are all possible to be seen in our heritage area, is that right?
Two are not normally seen in Maryland, but and there’s always a but, there have been rare sightings of one of those – I don’t think the other. I’ll give it some more time before I tell you what those are.
Yes, let me know! I would have said osprey for D as well! 🙂
